Southsea Beach, Portsmouth
April - July 2025
As part of The Windbreaks outdoor art gallery on Southsea Seafront — presented in collaboration with Hot Walls Studios, Portsmouth City Council, and the Southsea Coastal Scheme — my project, Searching for a Place to Belong, is now on view.
This work explores the profound connection between women, nature, and identity. Inspired by the landscape, it reflects on how our environment shapes our sense of belonging. Through self-portraiture and wearable sculptures crafted from natural materials, I examine our intrinsic relationship with the land, recognising women as an inseparable part of nature itself.
I’m honored to have been selected alongside the incredible Maria de la O Garrido as part of the second wave of artists featured in this evolving outdoor gallery, which celebrates local creativity and coastal resilience.
This installation invites viewers to pause and connect with the environment in a new way, blending art, nature, and community spirit.
The works are currently on display and will remain on view through July 2025.
